It was an all-Malaysian affair in the men’s doubles final, where the Yew Hong Kheng-Ow Yao Han pair beat Lim Yu Sheng-Low Wei Sheng for the gold in an exhilarating three games which took 30 minutes. Hong Kheng-Yao Han lost the first game 14-21 but bounced back to win the next two at 21-13 and 21-14.“It was a tough game. We were under pressure because they played very well in the first set. But we managed to come back to win. It was a nice victory. Our next target is the Malaysian satellite (tournament),” said Hong Kheng. Winners: Yew Hong Kheng and Ow Yao Han won the doubles’ gold. Earlier, Ng Hui Ern-Lim Ee Von easily defeated the New Zealand pair of Jonggowisastro-Mary O’Connor 21-8, 21-19 for the bronze in the women’s doubles.The three medals boosted Malay sia’s total haul in the third edition of the Games to 13 €” three gold, four silver and six bronze medals.
